This 1868TX Elite features both of Ovation’s Super Shallow and Mid-Depth Bowl, which are ergonomically designed for comfort in any playing position. A deluxe AA solid-spruce top and Ovation’s legendary lightweight, yet high-strength bracing, give this guitar tremendous sonic power. An ultra-thin finish allows the soundboard to resonate freely, and soundports on the bass-string side of Ovation’s sculpted cutaway composite body enhance lower-frequency projection.
Shaped to offer the fast feel of an electric guitar, the slim, hard-rock maple neck delivers superior sustain, while the OP-Pro preamp and OCP-1K pickup produce uncompromising plugged-in performance.
Super Shallow
The Lyrachord back bowl of the Ovation Elite TX Super Shallow was scientifically engineered to excel at performances on loud stages. Its slim dimensions are contoured in a way that optimally enhances the guitar’s resonance and projection, whether played acoustically or plugged in. But the thin profile is also excellent at resisting the howling feedback that you can sometimes encounter in those situations. And the build of the Elite TX is comfortable to hold against your body during those marathon gigs.
Performance-based design
